We made some video clips of our final SIEU presentations in Cornwall
With only two weeks in this month for the students to get themselves organised and finished up, there was certainly a lot of activity. Further visits were made to the farm by the students armed with energy monitors; to the equine department with light meters – establishing the fact that the lights really were not necessary in the middle of the day, as there was no difference in light levels in the stables.
Time is flying by with the project, and further visits are being made by the students. Information is passing backwards and forwards between, students, businesses and experts – all systems go!
There were a couple of delays with some groups of students getting out to their businesses, but by the end of the month, all groups have had a chance to meet with them and build up a better idea of what is required.
The students have now had the projects introduced to them, with several of the businesses coming into the classrooms to introduce themselves and explain more about their work and the energy questions.

With such a short period of time for the students to prepare, motivation and activity remained high as we headed towards the first of July. Plenty of research went on, with comparisons of embedded energy being made between different construction materials suitable for the Potager Garden in Constantine, to the suitability of renewable technologies for power generation at the Adelaide Stores in Tolvaddon.
